As a Medical Writer at Red Nucleus you research, design, and write educational materials for industry professionals in the life sciences, including sales representatives, medical science liaisons, and healthcare providers. Topics include disease state background and associated anatomy and physiology, treatments, patient experience, product knowledge, competitive landscape, and sales skills. Formats primarily include e-learning, print, and live or virtual workshops.

Your Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients and subject matter experts to shape the design and development of content
  • Research, learn, and distill complex scientific information and communicate it clearly to the target audience
  • Collaborate with a group of individuals with diverse skills—project managers, instructional designers, artists, programmers, and medical editors—to ensure that our solutions are engaging, accurate, and meet our clients’ needs
  • Attend status calls and review meetings with client teams that may consist of members from Sales, Marketing, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory departments
  • Occasionally participate in the development and delivery of sales presentations


  • BS/BA in a life science, pharmacology, or medicine
  • Willingness and ability to
    • Navigate between multiple and changing projects, tasks, and priorities
    • Meet deadlines
    • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
    • Handle constructive criticism
    • Consistently project an upbeat, professional attitude and image
    • Occasionally travel to client meetings/events
  • Proficiency with
    • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Adobe Acrobat

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or biotechnology sales training experience
  • Experience as a healthcare provider (MD, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse, Pharmacist, etc)
  • Advanced degree (MA, MS, PhD, PharmD, MD)
  • Teaching experience
  • Familiarity with clinical research and/or instructional design principles
  • Experience writing in multimedia formats
  • Working knowledge of the American Medical Association style guide
