Our Work

The types of projects we work on are diverse, spanning from pre-launch to post-launch positions of a brand lifecycle, across multiple audiences. Examples include

  • Design and development of new drug and medical device launch curricula for sales representative and medical science liaison audiences
  • Patient journey videos
  • Interactive MOA animations
  • Designing virtual clinical environments in which learners interact with HCPs and patients
  • Workshop design, development, and live support for new product launches, national sales meetings, and plan-of-action meetings
  • Patient, HCP, and KOL podcasts

Your Responsibilities

An art director’s responsibilities fall within 3 core areas: Creative Development, Sales Support, and Department Leadership.


Creative Development

  • Determines and contributes to the overall creative approach to a project
  • Develops graphics, illustrations, UI elements, and other visual assets for print, digital, multimedia, and responsive learning solutions
  • Routinely consults with writers, project managers, instructional designers, and occasionally clients to determine the most efficient, effective, and appropriate approach to a project
  • Reviews freelancer and secondary artist work to ensure adherence to RN quality and consistency standards
  • Actively and confidently leads discussions with clients and their extended team where applicable
  • Leads internal initiatives and involves the senior and non-senior artist staff to support these initiatives where applicable and/or as growth opportunities
  • Assists with coordination and distribution of project workload


Sales Support

  • Collaborates with RN business development and delivery team members to brainstorm approaches to a potential deliverable or pitch deck to develop graphics, illustrations, etc for proposals and pitches
  • Works closely with the business development and writing teams to develop sales presentations and associated graphics
  • Works with team leads and project managers to help scope projects
  • Participates in live/virtual pitches to clients to win business when applicable


Department Leadership

  • Guides the candidate search and interview process for new talent in the department when applicable
  • Onboards new hires and serves as a mentor, collaborator, and certifier
  • Works to improve RN’s quality and efficiency by evaluating and suggesting process improvements
  • Establishes department standards
  • Acts in an advisory capacity for both the department and RN as a whole


Requirements

  • BA/BS/BFA in graphic design, interactive design, medical illustration, or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience (preferably 4+ with RN)
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of key software tools, including but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, XD, Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Storyline, RISE, 3D Software
  • Understands user behavior and client goals in order to create seamless user experiences and user interfaces
  • Ability to translate complex information and concepts into understandable visuals that communicate the expected message
  • Experience as lead artist on a broad range of project types
  • Exhibits exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Has a general knowledge of industry conventions and expectations
  • Is experienced and comfortable with directing, training, and coaching new artists
  • Is experienced and comfortable interacting with clients
  • Willingness and ability to

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced degree, such as an MFA
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Experience with/advanced knowledge of
    • Life science, pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or biotechnology sales training
    • 3D
    • Photography
    • Video production/editing
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc
    • Drawing fundamentals
